Note App V2

Note App V2 introduces new features including a control bar, arpeggiator, chord functionality, semitone color, and X offset.

The offset feature is primarily added to support Poly Playground-like note layouts.

Please note that this is a work in progress, and the design is subject to change. The current colors of the UI elements are for reference only, as our primary focus has been on functionality rather than visual design at this stage.

This is the play view with new optional ontrol bar
Note Pad
Tap to play a note.
Octave, Layout Swap, and Shift Keys
Tap left or right to change the octave, tap both at the same time to swap the layout, and hold any of them to enable shift feature. (The LED will dim and saturate based on the octave) (Color is the active map root key color)
Pitchbend up
Use aftertouch to pitchbend up. (With shift combo, it will send a song start midi message)
Pitchbend down
Use aftertouch to pitchbend down. (With shift combo, it will send a song stop midi message)
Note Latch
Tap to enable note latch. Keys will be latched until you play another note. (Wuth shift combo, it will change the note latch mode of the secondary layout)
Key Selector
Change the key of the pad on the fly. (With shift combo, it will change the key of the secondary layout)
Arpeggiator
Change the settings of the arpeggiator. (With shift combo, it will change the settings of the secondary layout)
Chord
Change the settings of the chord.

This is the play view with arpeggiator control.
Note Pad
Tap to play a note.

Arpeggiator Settings
Select the rate of the arpeggiator. Left most is off, and the right most is the fastest. (Something like Off, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8, 1/12, 1/16, 1/24, 1/32)

This is the play view with chord control (Note that you will be able to use chord and arpeggiator at the same time. Chorded notes will be arpeggiated)

Select the scale and root key of the active note pad layout.

Tap to enter the config menu.

Arpeggiator Setting​

You will be able to change the folowing settings of the arpeggiator:

  • BPM: Set a BPM or sync to the external clock. (You can also send out a clock)

  • Swing Amount: Set the swing amount of the arpeggiator. (-80% to 80%)

  • Gate Time: Set the gate time of the arpeggiator. (0% to 100%)

  • Direction: Set the direction of the arpeggiator. (Up, Down, Up/Down, Up/Down End Key Repeated, Random, Order, Chord)

  • Step: Set the octave step of the arpeggiator. (1 to 8)

  • Step Offset: Sets the offset for each step (-24 to 24)

  • Follow Scale: Enable to follow the scale of the note pad layout. (Boolean)

This is the arpeggiator setting.
Setting Selector
Select the setting you want to change.
Display
Displays the Information of the Settings (BPM, Swing Amount, Gate Time, Direction, Step, Octave Range, not just numbers)
Controller
Control the setting of the arpeggiator. (Control will change based on the selected setting)
Go Back to Config Menu
Tap to go back to the config menu.

New Offset Selector​

The Offset selector replaces the old overlap selector.

Instead of setting overlap for each row. The new selector selects much semitone offset of x and y axis is.

The Offset Selector allows you to customize the layout of the note pad.
Offset Display
Displays the offset of the active note pad layout.
X Offset Selector
Selects how much each row above overlaps with the row below it.
Y Offset Selector
Selects how much each row above overlaps with the row below it.
Y offset one octave
Tap to set the Y offset to one octave instead of semitone.
Go Back to Config Menu
Tap to go back to the config menu.

The Note Pad Color Selector allows you to customize the color combination of the active note pad layout.

Color Mode - Root Key
Select the color mode to two tone with root key accent.
Color Mode - Per Semitone
Select the color mode to per semitone.
Semitone Color Selector
Select the color of each semitone.
